About AAU, Jorhat
Assam Agricultural University Established on April 1, 1969 with its Headquarters at Jorhat, Assam Agricultural University (AAU) is the first institution of its kind in the whole North-Eastern Region of India. The base of this institution comprised the erstwhile Assam Agricultural College at Jorhat and the Assam Veterinary College at Khanapara, Guwahati. Subsequently, seven more colleges, namely the College of Community Science at Jorhat, the College of Fisheries at Raha, the Biswanath College of Agriculture at Biswanath Chariali, the Sarat Chandra Singha College of Agriculture at Rangamati, Chapar, the Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science at Joyhing, North Lakhimpur, the College of Horticulture at Nalbari and the College of Sericulture at Titabar were established at different point of time under the AAU.
The main goal of this institution is to produce globally competitive human resources in farm sector and to carry out research in both conventional and frontier areas for production optimization as well as to disseminate the generated technologies as public good for benefiting the food growers/produces and traders involved in the sector while emphasizing on sustainability, equity and overall food security at household level.

Eligibility Criteria of AAU Jorhat Admission
Undergraduate Degree Programmes
Age Limit: A candidate for undergraduate degree programme shall be at least 16 years of age as on 01-08-2026 (i.e. must have been born before 01-08-2010) for all the programmes other than B.V.Sc & A.H.
Educational Qualification:
B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, B. Sc. (Hons) Horticulture, B. Sc. (Hons) Sericulture, and Integrated B.Tech-M.Tech in Molecular Biology & Biotechnology Degree Programmes
i) A candidate must have passed Higher Secondary/10+2/ Intermediate examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) or Physics, Chemistry and Agriculture (PCAg) or Biology, Chemistry and Agriculture (BCAg) from a recognized University or Board including that of NIOS.
ii) A candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate for Gen/OBC/UPS category and 40% marks in aggregate for SC/ST/DAC in qualifying examination.
B.Sc. (Hons) Community Science/ Food Nutrition & Dietetics degree programme
i) A candidate must have passed Higher Secondary/ 10+2/ Intermediate examination with Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) or Physics, Chemistry & Agriculture (PCAg) or Biology, Chemistry & Agriculture (BCAg) or Physics, Chemistry & Home Science (PCHSc.) as subjects from a recognized University or Board including that of NIOS.
ii) A candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate for Gen/OBC/UPS category and 40% marks in aggregate for SC/ST/DAC in qualifying examination.

Master’s Degree Programmes
Selection of the candidates for admission into Master’s Degree Programmes shall be based on the NTA score (2026-27) obtained by the candidates in ICAR’s AIEEA (PG) during the academic
session 2026-27 OR on the basis of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Biotechnology (GAT-B) to be conducted nationally by DBT or DBT-approved agencies.

There will be a second channel of admission in order to admit the eligible students across the subject groups in the Faculty of Agriculture by conducting a Common Entrance Test (CET). The admission of CET qualified candidates may be considered only when they don’t find a place in a Department of their choice through NTA score. Application Fee: Rs 1500/- has to be paid as application fee by all candidates.

About CETUGAAU26
Selection of the candidates for admission into all Undergraduate degree programmes for the academic session 2026-27 shall be based on the performance at the Common Entrance Test 2026 to be conducted centrally by AAU.
The Common Entrance Test will be a Computer Based Test (CBT). The duration of the test will be 2 hours for 160 numbers of Multiple Choice Questions consisting 40 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.
Students from science stream (10+2 passed), having the certificate of Permanent Residence of Assam and NER (for HFC seats) only can apply for the test. The students appearing in the qualifying exam are also eligible to sit in the Common Entrance test 2026, but shall have to pass 10+2 exam before the date of admission. The wards of Defence/ Paramilitary personnel serving in the State of Assam for at least one year are also eligible to apply for the Entrance Test, 2026
